I want to red kote my tank but the inside looks like this. This is after i removed the large amount of rust it had before with water and vinegar and then neutralized it, i was not able to add the baking soda quick enough and it took about a minute or a minute and a half before i could put it in, i think this might be flash rust and i was wondering if I would still be able to use red kote effectively on this tank, if not what can I do so that i can, would i have to soak it again?
@Jacob Boucher chemicals and rust dont wait. they wont "hold on" to do their thing before youre ready, you really have to act very quickly when lining a tank. dsont waste yoru time with baking soda, that will render the redkote inefective.
watch my video on how i line tanks. - https://youtu.be/QgeKsaOvADw?si=dllPDpqiFJZX_IeS
get the rust out with evaporust and don't use any friggin water. water is whats doing this. just use the evaporust, drain and use a heat gun to dry quickly, then once theres no more fluid in there, and its COMPLETELY DRY - IMMEDIATELY START YOUR REDKOTE PROCESS.
@TJ I don't understand, can i coat it how it is or do i have to soak it again
@Jacob Boucher did you watch the video?
you can not line the tank as is. You need to use evapo rust in the tank. dont use ANY water in this process. and dont use baking soda.

evaporust will get rid oif the rust, you may need ot leave it in for a day or two. then you need to dump it out and use a heat gun to QUICKLY dry the tank. As soon as theres no more evaporust then you can line with redkote.
