Hello, i got a 1999 single carb honda vt600 with open intake and leovince silvertail pipes. Iam having a hard time time tuning due to fuel sputing out of the needle jet during idle. Most threads points towards an overflow in the floatbowl. But i did tube test and it seems fine. Cleaned floatneedle seat, new float needle. I dont have a ultrasonic cleaner but i made sure all fuel passages and air vents were clear. It drives me nuts. Maybe hard to understand but if anyone have experienced anything similar please reach out to me. :)

I took a video of it all so you can understand what i mean. I put in a 48 pilot jet but its seems to build up alot of carbon on the plug on idle just because the needle jet is leaking. 132 main. Because i have almost stock pipes. Right now i got no shims because i testet to se if no shims would make it stop leaking, but no... something is making it draw fuel from the mainjet att idle???!
What are you running in your carb
I was having same issue but I think I fixed it now my bike runs perfect from idle to 1/4. I swapped back to my oem needle jet collar and oem needle. I even went back to my oem diaphragm. I don't get mass amount of fuel pooling out needle jet. If you checked your float height and it was good check for possible cracks in the main jet tube. But if you are running aftermarket parts try swapping back to oem but make sure you have proper jet sizing if you are still running v stacks. if you switch to oem stuff you are gonna be running lean.
Also check for vacuum leaks if ur boot is super old and hard it's cooked get a new one. Also check ur spark plugs if you had mass fuel pooling ur shit might've flooded and ur spark plugs are probably gonna be black and wet asf you gotta clean them or probably just get some new ones
@Biketon does it leak when the bike is turned off? and is the needle jet installed in the right direction?
