Having problems with Idle

    Good day, I have a 2004 Honda shadow VT750C, all vaccums deleted, block off plates installed, got a brand new carb I put 1 washer over the needle, and I have a 142 jet with 50 pilot. Choke all in bike won't idle, choke out just a little it idles but sounds like it's skipping, choke all the way out sounds like it's running away. Idk what to do, where do I start, please help, thank you!

    I had a similar issue recently. Granted I have the 01 shadow spirit with a dual carb so some things may be a touch different. I racked my brain for days. Make sure your air fuel mixture is where you need it. If that is good, try your idle screw mine likes to tighten itself gradually. Lastly check your spark plugs. That was my issue, the plugs were burnt to shit. Replaced them, retuned the carb and idle screw and it runs better than it ever has for me.
