    How's it going everyone! Having an issue with my 99' 750 ACE and before I go tearing into the carbs for a 3rd time I'd see what everyone else has for opinions! I'd like to say I have verified float height at 7.5mm, new carb boots, synced the carbs and ran valves for the heck of it but anyways. Bike has velocity stacks and pipes with tjbc performance jet kit with biggest jets installed on pilot and main. I am having to run the a/f mixture screws out about 5 turns to get this thing to idle correctly  and it's been frustrating to say the least! Any help would be appreciated! Mid range throttle is also piss poor just reving the engine.

    its not easy to diagnose the root problem or problems. Nor is it easy to exactly say what to do. 5 turns out on the pilot screws is a very telling sign of improper function at the most basic part of the carb, (idle). If the idle is not set right, everything else will be off. Start with the idle circuit. If you can get it running well on 2 turns out on the pilot screws, then you will easily get the rest of it. 5 turns out is suggesting poor fuel delivery in the idle circuit. Thats assuming everything elso on the bike is working properly. Please read up on carb tuning. TJ has a great video tutorial and other written info here on his site. You can do this. Its not difficult.

    @DaLong appreciate the response. I am also thinking there's Definitly some underlying issues with this carb (bike sat for a few years). I'm thinking about either doing a complete disassembly with sonic cleaning or starting with a fresh carb. Most likely something is very plugged up that I just can't find nor get cleaned out.

    @TJ I actually got it running good today! For some reason a 48 pilot jet did the trick 🤷🏼‍♂️. 2 turns out and she sounds and runs like a champ now. I know that jet size seems kinda big but it's working so I'm not going to question it to much haha
