needle jet not allowing fuel to enter bowls

  • im having a headache of a time trying to get fuel to the bowls, ive had the carbs off 4 times now trying to figure this out and maybe im missing something simple. i put the max performace kit in my 1100 and the firstime after putting it together i had fuel but had to take it off to rejet for tuning purposes. after that i could never get fuel to the bowls. ive diaged wiring to the fuel pump and i have confirmed i am getting fuel all the way to the inlet but the float will not allow fuel in. after taking the needle jet out i blew air through to make sure of no blockage. i did set float height and confirmed the float was not compressing the needle. this is my first time working on a bike and i jumped right into it, everything has been smooth, im just scratching my head on what changed.

any advice would be helpful, maybe i havent tried something or i forgot something

    thanks

  • @Amanda Sell where are reviews on questions ? Haven't seen your concern answered.

  • @Leonar Larios what do you mean reviews on questions?

  • @Amanda Sell are you sure you set the float hight correctly? ive seen people do this and they accidentally set the float to pretty much never open. also if you blocked off your float bowl vents they will never fill because theres nowhere for the air to displace.

  • @TJ i did figure out the float height was incorrect. i now have it set at factory 9mm. i didnt know about the float vents. im not even sure where those are. i do have a plastic T between the carbs that have a hose running into atmosphere if thats the one you were talking about? fuel is flowing with a bench test at the moment.

  • @Amanda Sell blow air into the vent, if its coming out in the top part of the bowl then you know its your bowl vent =)
