1999 Honda Shadow VT1100T mixing screws

  • I have a 1999 Honda VT1100. I recently cleaned my carbs. Now I get alot of back firing at idle and 1/4 thorrtle. To lean. The question I have is about my mixing screws. I have tighted to the point where they but a dimple in the carb. (I know lightly tight. Didnt know till after I did it." The screws themselves did not get any damage. Is this dimple normal? Or do i need carbs now?

The bike sat for 3 years in a temp controlled basement. It started right up when I removed it from stoarge. Rode it 5 miles just fine. Parked it for 2 months in the heat of summer. Clogged the jets. removed carbs and cleaned. Now i have throttle back, But I am running super lean. I have checked the rubber boots from carbs to cylinder head. No leak. Found rear exhaust was leaking. removed and replaced crushwasher but contuine to have the same issue.

EDIT: Bike will idle. sneezzing when giving any throttle when coming back down to idle

EDIT: This a snezzing and popping kind of noise.

    Please help.

  • @Mitchell Tusing uhh ok, so the mix screws are brass and the seat is aluminum they have a hole in the carb they go to,  im not sure what your talking about dimpling the cabr but nothing on these carbs should be tightened insanley hard. ill need oto see pics.
