How Screwed Am I

07 Honda Shadow, with only little more than 9500 miles, let me say I bought the bike from a guy when it was at 9000 miles and he said that it sat for about 2.5 years. Since ive had this bike ive had a shop replace the stator/rectifier and I bought a carb tune up kit from TJ Brutal Customs. They also replaced the oil in the bike I believe too. Anyway to my issue at hand, currently the bike will start up but it will die within seconds if not cranking the throttle. When the bike is running there is oil sputtering out of the rear exhaust pipe and little bit of smoke wafting out of it too. I also noticed that some gasoline had spit out of the bottome out of what I believe to be to be a breather tube for somewhere on the bike. Came out of the left side of the bike behind the chrome cover on the left side of the bike. After letting it sit for a night I checked the oil level and noticed it was a little bit higher than the "max" on the dip stick. I need to check the spark plugs but since its 4th of July weekend everything is closed at the time of writing this. I plan to go buy a socket that will fit the spark plug and something to check the pressure of that cylinder too.
If this has happend to anyone else I would like your input. Ive only had this bike for maybe a total of 2 to 3 months not counting the 2 months of it sitting inside the shop for the Stator
