Do i need to put shims on jet needle out of the box.

  Hi team!

  I got a 1998 shadow 750 ACE. I have a open exhaust, with your velocity stacks. I purchased your preformace kit for my dual carb. Open the box and looking at the jet needle, it has a rubber protective cover. Removing it and disassembling it, seeing the length of needle compared to the stock, it is much shorter. 

  Is it still required of me to put shims ? If so how many?
