2005 Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100c2

  so I have a 2005 Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100 2 I have so many questions about it.

  1.If I remove the carburetor and install velocity stacks:

  • The stock air box gets removed
  • Does the air box stay removed permanently, or is it needed for anything after?

  2.My main concern right now is the water pump (besides the carburetor).

  • I’ve looked through forums and online posts, but I want a clearer explanation
  • Ideally from someone who has worked on this exact bike/model
  • I’m trying to understand:
  • How the water pump works on this bike
  • Common issues or failures
  • What I should check or replace
  • Anything important I should know before working on it
  • do I have to buy OEM from dealer or can I buy off of eBay? Does anyone know of eom dealer of china for water pump on evay

  @Arthur Dasilva the air box doesnt go back on the bike after stacks. im not sure how the water pump is related to the airbox. Ive never doen anything witht he water pumps on the 1100. i strongly suggest you get a service manual and it will give you coolant flow diagrams and lay out how everything is supposed to function. you shoudlnt have any issues with the water pump really. dealers will not carry any parts for your bikle, you will need to use sites like partzilla or ebay.
