Hello,
I was curious if i could get some suggestions and explanations on sprocket sizes. I ride the highway a lot! and I am on a 1994 vt600. what should i do to get rid of somevibration? and does a 17 tooth sprocketfit on the front of a vt600. it looks pretty tight in there. Thanks!
@Augustus Skerlich heres a fun video i did about this. - https://support.shoptjbc.com/en-US/should-i-change-my-sprocket-size-and-why-does-my-vlx-only-have-4-gears-3472052
bear in mind this is a serious tradeoff. You will not be leaving the line very quickly and it will take different technique to let the clutch out and roll on the throttle. i stick with stock gearing because ive tried different sprocket sizes and ive never liked it. the minor reduction in highway "vibration" was not worth the tradeoff.
17 tooth sprocket - i would not. theres virtually NO room between the case and chain and if you get a mildly flopppy chain, youre gonna be wearing through case components.
