Vt600 frame chop.

  So, Ive seen the JT video where he shows cutting out the frame in the area I marked yellow. The question I have, is in my '03 vt600 I cut the tail off right at that ugly junction. I plan on running a solo seat. So I do I need to tie the seat area into the frame, as in that post with the rear pegs. Is that piece of the frame there for structural integrity, or was it more for the passenger support and pegs? Without the weight of a passenger on the frame would I be safe to remove it entirely? I want to maintain the soft tail for now, hard tail maybe in the future, but I'd like to clean the look up in that area, and if it's not some engineered piece for a purpose I can't see, like keeping the tail section from twisting or something bizarre. If I can safely I'll just hack it all out. If it is important I'll fab up some replacement.
