Bought and installed the max performance kit for my 07 vlx600. Did everything according to the available information, including carb work. I have good throttle response through the range with the largest pilot and main jets plus both shims on the needle.
I've got a little over a 100 miles since I did all this and need a touch of help dialing the last bit.
If I rapidly crack the throttle and close it, I get popping in the exhaust. Sounds like I'm making popcorn and I find it annoying and probably detrimental to the bikes long term health.
the only adjustments I have left are idle speed and A/F. Idle doesn't seem like the right solution, so that leaves the fuel screw. To increase fuel, I'm assuming I should back it out to open the port more. Currently at 2.5-3 turns out.
thanks
It's my understanding that decel pop is not detrimental. I personally like it. I about to rebuild my carb on my 05 vlx 600. What pipes do you have? I'm rocking boot burners and a stack, and I'd love to start as close to the right spot as possible instead of pulling the carb several times to change the jet.
@Bretton Nedwreski you need to review this information for tuning- https://shoptjbc.com/community/brutalforums/topic/176621/tuning-your-carbureted-honda-shadow-everything-you-need-to-know
Hey all, my problem after the performance stack on my 2007 vlx 600 is at idle. My bike shuts off at idle. Any ideas?

@Migz fuel flow, or idle is too low or the battery is shot. id check those first
