i bought a performance rebuild kit from you because my shadow 600 97 duel carb would Only sputer out like it was out of gas when in 4th gear installed the rebuild kit wil new carb boots and it still does the same exact thing it sputters out in 4th gear only i was wondering could it be a spark issue even though it has spark on all 4 plugs,if u could respond it would be very much appreciated i have watched every video your have and have not heard anything about my problem
Hey bro, not with TJ, but sputtering sounds like fuel not spark. Have you checked the in line fuel filter? Old tanks can send bad stuff down stream. If you find rust sand in your filter, it may be choking gas flow somewhere. Hope this helps. Good luck
@alton brewer put 6-8 inches of hose on the bowl breatehr vents, the two brass 1/4" nipples in the center of the carbs, tun that hose to the bvack of the bike. wind can sometimes create POSITIVE vacuum in the bowl preventing fuel from filling fast enough. also, does your poetcock flow freely? does fuel flow through your filter freely>? do you still have your pump installed? i can go on for days man LOL
did you drill your slides? if not, thats good. are they installed correctly? a rolled lip at the top can bleed air and prevent the slide from rising. are thesprings straight? i saw a guy whos spring was pinched at the top and prevented the slide form moving.
What throttle position are you having the problem at? this will tell you which jetting circuit could be the issue. i can ride my bike in 4th gear from 1/4 throttle to wot. gear is not a concern here but threottle position is.
Stuttering is a fuel flow problem, now you didnt state what jets you used, what your mix screw was at so i cant guess.
but start with my suggestions and go from there! good luck!
@TJ okay so i have bought some cheap amazon coils and plugs before i spend the 110$ on your plug wire kit and it runs a lot better in 4th gear it isn't perfect so i think i will order yours and it should be okay idk just really odd been my daily rider for over 15000 miles and never had a problem and i also just put brand new spark plugs in it
@TJ i also put in the 45 jets or the biggest ones in your kit i pulled the carbs off and rechecked everything u said , i put that extra tube on the nipples facing backwards i also have air box delete and wide open straight pipes from u also it,also if it helps it will rev up PERFECTLY and hold it in neteurl 1-3 i can rev bang it at it will not sputter i'm not a mechanic but i know a good bit it just confuses me when i can rev it up but once it hits fourth gear it takes a shit,thanks for the help boss man🤙🏼
