Fuel on Velocity Stacks

  • I installed some new pipes and the velocity stack and rejetted the carbs. Bike runs great at idle and runs great through all speeds while riding. No backfiring, spitting, sputtering, etc. However, my velocity stack will have a little bit of excess fuel on the front inside edge after a couple of miles. I havent dealt with velocity stacks before, is this normal from all the wind? or do i need to rejet/tune it differently? 2004 Single Carb 600 VLX

  • @Grant Blouw a film is pretty normal, even the harleys with a super E get that, but i do want to check a few things, do you shut off your petcock when you park the bike?

also how do your plugs look?

  • @TJ Alright sounds good. i dont shut off the petcock when i park, should i be? I will pull the plugs tonight or later this week and take a look at them as well.

  • @Grant Blouw yeah i always turn off the petcock. safety and if the float gets stuck open you wont wash your cylinders and have to deal with that expensive fuck up.
