Having what im assuming is a fuel issue. Chopped 1988 shadow 600, has velocity stacks and the jt carb kit. Fires up fine, idles great, no spitting or backfiring on decel so im assuming the jetting is pretty good. But after a mile or mile and a half the bike will start sputterimg and die. Pull over, get it in nuetral will fire right up and good to go for another mile or so then same thing. Did 20 long miles like this, first highway trip since build. Im thinking it needs a fuelpump instead of the gravity feed setup? Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.
I'm in the same boat, hope we get an answer soon
Kind of wondering if its not electrical maybe, seems like its dropping a cylender. Dont seem like theres to many peeps on here?
@Donald white my kickstand safety switch has it's wires pulled out, I'm not sure if that could be an issue or not. I think im gonna replace spark plugs and see what that does
Dug into it tonight, think im actually having electrical issues. Drops voltage under throttle.
@Donald white check your clutch cable, that's what mine was. Issue is resolved
Clutch cable aint gonna cause it to die after a mile, i got a voltage regulator issue. Ordered a new one.
@Donald white i adjusted mine and have had 0 issues
Fixed my charging issue, still having what i assume is a fuel issue. Anyone ever on here?
