Hi there, I'm modding my 88 VT600 and I have a question regarding the battery covers.
My 88 bike has battery covers that "plug" into the side of the bike. On the top they have 3 tabs that slide under the bit of plastic that surrounds the seat. I have heard that newer bikes have different ones, without the 3 tabs on top. Are they backwards compatible with the early models'?

@Razayan you have the version that is on the bikes from 88 to 98. the newer side ocvers are not compatible. the bike does not have the proper mounting points and they will not fit with the seat/fender piece. on your bike, the seat cowl and fender are one piece. on the 99 - 2007 models the fender is not a part of the side covers,. and they did away with the seat cowl.
Thanks for getting back, trying to mod my original cowl and fender to look proper with my new seat and chopped frame.
