Hey gang,
I know, I know—the idea of swapping from a dual to a single carburetor isn’t great. You lose some ponies, and the eBay dual-to-single manifold is crap.
But what if you used the original 17110-MZ8-H00 manifold and, of course, a 16100-MZ8-S00 carb? Would it then be possible? Are the cylinders aligned/spaced the same on early 199* to 1995 as on the 200* models that come with a single-carb setup?
I’m currently building a dual-carb 1988 as a bobber, but I also got my hands on a 1991 and a 1995 model. I’m thinking—if it’s possible—of building one as a lowboy hardtail, jockey-shifter with a springer seat and a single carb.
@David Hagmund That intake will not fit a dual carb bike. at all. the intake ports on the heads of a dual carb bike do not have any bolt holes, they are spigots that rubber intake boots mount on. im just going to stop there. because if you actually pull it apart, you will see exactly what im talking about.
dual carb bikes do not convert to single. also, thats literally a downgrade in performance. dual carbs is race status shit. nascar approved.! lol
Fu*k shit.. I'll abandon all hope and run with my dual bastards :o)
Still looking for them "dual slide covers" :-/
@David Hagmund dual carbs is race shit my man. tuned up you have more ponies than a single carb guaranteed!
