My 2003 Shadow ace 750 would die at anything past half throttle after I put the velocity stacks on it, so I bought this kit to give it more fuel and it fixed my issue and works very well. took some tuning but its well worth it. definitely recommend!!
Only thing I don't understand, is WHERE the black Short "Idle Adjuster" is supposed to go, because it doesn't fit my carb....otherwise, the rest of the kit has done a great job, Before, my bike was cold blooded and that's over now, with a nice boost to my power.
I was hesitant to get this kit at first since the exhaust i have is baffled but paired with tj's velocity stacks, the smaller option jets have made my bike run so smooth. No more hesitation or choppy acceleration just smooth responsive throttle.
Bought the kit and installed with the smallest jets each and two shims under the needles. Idled good, but ran way too rich. Kept going down on the main jet size buying new ones to finally get it to run right with TJ pipes and velocity stack. Setup ended up being 48 pilot, 2 shims, and 130 main after taking my time working back from a 142 main seeing how it ran through all throttle stages. I live at about 4500ft, so to anyone at similar elevation just know the mains in this kit are going to be way too big to run right. In general it seems that for open exhaust and intake you really should be raising the mains 2 or so sizes otherwise it seems to have a bog right before WOT unless you really wind it out. Maybe they work better at sea level where TJ is though, but yeah way too rich of mains in my opinion! Thanks for making parts for these shadows TJ!
