2002 Shadow 750 ACE.
Just replaced the right handlebar switch assembly (starter button / kill switch), and now the lights stay on even when the key is turned off.
I kinda like the idea of an actual light switch so I don’t have to run my lights unless I want to, so my idea is to find the wire that is currently making them stay on, and put a toggle switch in the circuit.
Can anybody tell me which wire that would be? I have a wiring diagram, but it reminds me of trying to untangle a bowl of spaghetti.
Ideas anybody?

@Terry Walters if you wired in a new switch assemblythat somehow makes the lights stay on all the time then it means you wired it in incorrectly. no?
the black and red wire at the 9 pin plug is what powers the headlight, the start button has a cutoff so that when you push the start button the headlight loses power so all power is sent to the starter. smart!
you can put an on off switch in the blue/white wire if you want.
I tried using the blue/white wire, which worked for the headlight, but the tail light stayed on. As far as the wiring of the switch assembly, it was a plug and play install. It came off of a 2002 Shadow 750 just like mine, and all I did was hang it on the bar and plug in the connector inside the headlight, and the two small wires next to the throttle. The thing could have been defective to start with, but the guy I got it from says it worked fine. I'll have to put on my glasses and study the wiring diagram I guess. Not my favorite thing to do, but that's what I should have done in the first place. I was just hoping somebody would say, "Hey, just put a toggle switch in the day-glo orange wire, and that'll do it!" Lol. I never can seem to get away with doing things the lazy way I guess.
