Anti-siphon device problem

    2002 Shadow 750 ACE. So I'm getting ready to line my gas tank with Red Kote, but there's what I assume is an anti-siphon device in the way. It's metal and appears to be welded in, not bolted or riveted.  I can't see what the inside of the tank looks like, and obviously I don't want to try it if there's a rust issue. Any idea how to remove the blockage? Or some other suggestion as to how to get a look in the tank? There's no way that I can see to work a camera or a mirror in around the device.

    @Terry Walters im not sure what could be in the way but i bought a pretty cheap inspection camera on amazon, and its been a godsend, i can look inside tanks, cylinders, intakes, the whole 9 yards. might be worth looking into.

    So, my solution was to drill a 1" hole through the "anti-siphon device" (I don't know what else to call it, so I can see into the tank. Now I've ordered a borecam, and once it gets here, I'll be able to check the inside of the tank. It doesn't look bad, peeking through the hole, but I want to check the entire interior, not just what's straight below the fill neck. The hardest part of doing it this way is that the money I spent on the camera was part of what I've been saving up for new exhausts! But I'll save it up again soon.

    @Terry Walters Well im glad you got that camera, its really worth its weight in gold! I hear the bummer about saving up again but if you dont have a solid tank, pretty much everything will suck on the bike HAHA! good on you for doing it right Terry! post some pics of the filler neck if you can so we can see what youve been talking about

    @Terry Walters ahhh here in the states the thing thats there is to hold the fuel nozzle while you fill up but its definitely not necesary!

    @TJ Well, it'll still do its job, the little hole I drilled won't affect that at all. Sure does make it hard to look inside the tank though.
