Running rich blowing black smoke

  Hey! I just picked up a 1992 Honda VT600 with the dual carbs and it's running super rich, just wondering where I should start looking before I bite the bullet and buy a rebuild kit for the carb, I did notice the right side choke plunger is broken where it screws in so maybe it's that but I have no idea haha. Anyway thanks I look forward to the responses!

  @TJ I just ordered the dual shorty choke plungers hopefully that'll do it, imma clean the carbs as well
