Dual carb shadow 1100

  I picked up a 2001 shadow 1100 sabre ive been slowly working thru it and ive gotten to the carb there was a big port on the side that had a piece of plastic glued over it and I cant find anything to tell me what that port is for or how I can seal it the right way. Any help would be appreciated.

  @Stephen Kemp well that shouldnt be sealed., its a very important part of your bike called the choke. you need to get a set of the shorty choke knobs on the side and thread those in. theres another one that goes on the other carb too.
