Bike will only start in neautral

  I just bought this bike I few months back. And noticed (since I am a very new rider) that if the bike dies, that i cannot restart the bike while in gear. I have to "re-cycle" back to neutral to start the bike. Its not the biggest thing. But its a pain and annoying and I would really like to see if there's a way for me to disable it. Or if something is faulty and I have to replace it. Like I said I am super new to riding in general so this is all new to me.

  @mike does the bike think the kickstand is down? It kills the bike if it's in gear with the kickstand down.
