2002 VT110 Shadow Saber BANG BANG

  • Hey TJB! I follow you on YouTube (which brings me here). I love your YouTube channel and have learned a lot. I got a question that maybe you or your forum members may be able to answer. I have a 2002 VT100 Shadow Saber, I bought it because it has 12,000 miles on it and seems to be in really good shape. The previous owner replaced the stock pipes with Cobra pipes. When I took it out for a test drive, the bike Popped during deceleration, a lot! I asked him about jetting and tuning and he assured me it was because the bike was cold. I bought the bike anyway because of the low mileage, I liked the bike, and I negotiated 1,500 for it.  I brought it to a local Honda place for a tune up / assessment and was told the bike "is what it is" and to use the clutch when decelerating to stop the popping. Doesn't seem right to me. Thoughts?

  • @ThisGuy 1500 is a good deal man! decel pop can mean the bikes pilot circuit is too lean, you can try backing out the air fuel mix sacrews to enrich the pilot circuit or increasing the pilot jet up a size or 2.

please take the time to read this tungin info so you can addrsss your bikes tuning needs easily and quickly! once you understand what the bikeis doing you can solve these issues very easily! - https://shoptjbc.com/community/brutalforums/topic/176621/tuning-your-carbureted-honda-shadow-everything-you-need-to-know
