I have a 1994 Honda shadow vt1100 apparently "Bored to a 1250" via the dude I got it from. It's a chopper build and I'm having problems with the carb or something is happening to where me and my brother in law messed with the needles and moved the clip then it quit doing this thing where it dies when we go into gear and give it a lot of gas. And was running good. It then stalled and the battery died charged the battery camr back to ride it it was doing the complete opposite where it was dying when we would start it and give it gas. The carbs are out of sync but it ran fine that one time. Can you give me a idea on what is happening or tell me what we could do to have you work on it
@mikeytomlin743 im sorry man but im having a hard time understanding whats even going on here.
i would go back to the guy who did whatever engine work to it and figure out how he got it to run to start with.
@TJ it's running. Dude said the stator was bad but that can't be the reason it dies when I give it gas in neutral. My brother in law is saying carb but I don't know if it is the carb or the carb pilot jet. We got it to run and drive but wouldn't go past 8 mph we shimmed the needle and it ran like a dream then just stopped being able to rev it in nutreal can't even take off in 1st without it dying. The main jet is a 182 but it's "bored to a 1250". And there is like 1.5inch exhaust on it. That's just all I know really.
@mikeytomlin743 if youre using jets someone drilled out. please stop. Get some proper jets, rebuild the carbs correctly, and go from there. 1.5" exhaust is pretty damn small for that bike. youll nee dot know more about the bike and what sactually real before taking next steps but from what youve said, rebuild the carb correctly with actual jets.
