04 Shadow 1100

  • I got an 04 Honda shadow 1100 and I got velocity stacks along with the complete performance carb rebuild kit also it's got an open exhaust and I've got the size 200 main jets and the size 50 pilot jet in the carbs and the air to fuel screw is turned out 3 3/4. I'm still getting a lag in third gear and I need some tips and advice on getting this figured out, thank you.

  • @Dilan BrightSun lift the needle!

  • Hey there! I have a 98 vt1100 ACE. I installed the performance kit and put 198 main jet and 50 pilot jet. It has stock intake and a cobraexhaust. The throttle bogs down when i pull it past 50%. any sggestions?

Also, I just bought the velocity stacks. Are there any ports that I need to plug or reroute when I install them?

thanks in advance for any help!

  • @TJ so while I was looking at the carb closer I noticed one needle was thinner than the other so I swapped it with the same size needle, and one of the diaphragms is stiffer than the other side and i have the new ones but i dont have anything to hold the diaphragms in place if I replace them, could you bless me with your mechanical knowledge?

  • @Dilan BrightSun ok so youve got a mish mash of parts going on... what do you eman hold the diaphragms in place? please post pictures of everything so i can help ya out =)

  • @TJ I'll get pictures when I get it apart again, and I'll do so once it's cooled off a little. So I swapped out the pilot jet to 48 thinking it was too rich, I also took out a shim on each side, but the problem I had was worse so it's way too lean, I figured that out, so when I go back in I'll swap the 48 for the size 50, and should I put two shims on each side? Or should I swap the needles out for the stock ones?

  • @Dilan BrightSun i'd use stock needles with two shims or keep playing with the clip needles.
