I've been eyeballing some boot burners for a minute. I currently have a very stock VT600 VLX that runs great. I understand that the carb would need to be re-jetted, but can I run the stock air box? Would there need to be a different set of jets recommended than what is included with the Max Performance Kit? Realistically, what would I be looking at to put straight pipes on my bike beyond the parts?
As much as I want to go full-blown custom, this was my grandfathers bike, and I want to keep it as much as he gave it to me. I just can't stand putting when I could rumble.
I'm positive I can't be the only one to ask this, so if there is an existing thread, please point me that way. I super appreciate any thoughts.
@Cody W you can get this kit - t.ly/HGAAz
you cannot install the pipes and not tune. and trust me if you take all the stock crap off and do the tuning process.... youre gonna kick yourself for not just getting the kit. youl have to remove and install the stock components a few times during tuning, and its not super duper fun LOL!
The kit, its got everything you need to get a performance boost out of the biuike and youre not doing anything that cant be undone. it includes the boot burners, stacks and a complete rebuild kit to properly rebuild and tune your carbs for the pipes and stacks. plus you save over $100 if you get the kit instead of individual parts. everything else ont he bike stays the same, buit it sounds, performans and looks a bit cooler.
