EFI

  • Can you create a video on the EFI gas tank and why you need the EFI tank for EFI bikes?

  • @Mike Burden so with carbs you have a single outlet going to the petcock, which is essentially gravity fed through a single bit port.
EFI systems utilize either a pump within the tank or an external pump.
These tanks tend to have 2 or more in/outlets for things like the return line.

  • @Smeltie you are correct!!  @Mike Burden  the efi tank hasa to have a return line. its a pressurized system.
Here's why you must have an EFI tank withan EFI system:
Stable Pressure Regulation: The pump continuously moves more fuel than the engine needs. A regulator at the fuel rail sets the desired pressure and sends excess fuel back, maintaining consistent pressure.
Cooling and Vapor Lock Prevention: Constantly circulating fuel from the cool tank through the warm engine bay and back helps prevent the fuel from overheating, which can cause vapor lock (fuel turning into gas in the line).
Preventing Pump Damage: Without a return line, a pump pushing against closed injectors (dead-heading) can burn out the pump or damage lines.
Consistent Performance: It provides a constant supply, which is critical for consistent tuning and proper engine operation.

I hope this helps answer your questions!

Dont need a 10 minute video for that. LOL
