  im thinking about getting a 1984 honda nighthawk the guy said it was well mantained untill an oil leak occured he said it was leaking out frome the bottom and took the exast off to work on it but decided to sell it instead he sais the carbs need to be cleaned and that if oil a battery and the exast wereto be put on it sould run idk tho 

  any advice from anyone??    the guy is selling it for $800

  I had a 84 Nighthawk. I got it cheap because it had a spun crank bearing on the #3 connecting rod. Found a used donor engine with the same spun bearing. Research at the time indicated this was a common issue with oiling. I rebuilt one of the engines. It ran great and was a lot of fun. I rode it a couple of weeks and let it go. There are better bikes out there.
