Can the frame be chopped more that usual?

  • I am looking at the vt600 swingarm and thinking why not chop it even more? I see that even elbbq/lnspltblvd build with a single backbone left the lower swingarm area intact. Could always improve the existing crossbrace later if the strength is a concern, right?

😅This almost creates enough space to cram a harley transmission with a kickstart in there 😅

  • @Denis Panteleev you can build your own swingarm if you want. You only really need to be concerned with how much things will twist at speed in a turn or if you hit a substantial bump, frame strength is important. ive seen people do some really hinky shit that results in frame failure and in a few lucky circumstances just minor injuries. so id be careful cutting things off a frame, and just make sure youre safe. =)
no you cannot put a transimssion in this frame.  you cannot put a harley external transmission on a 600. i know lots of people ask why you cant have a kicker on these bikes. It is not possible, The honda shadows are unit contruction, the transmission is part of the engine and integrated into the crankcase. if you want an external trans, a big twin engine, gotta get a harley. =)

  • @TJ

Good point, the swingarm may need additional bracing, I could add a crossbrase pipe on the bottom.

I know what you mean regarding the tranmission, but hear me out :D We can have BOTH of tranmissions and use one of them :D Just put the OG transmission into 4th and leave it there.

Put a custom 428 pitch front sprocket from Sprocket Specialists

Then get a shovelhead 4 speed with single chain primary drive and chain secondary.

Then put a harley rear wheel and axle (Seen done on VT600's)

    Profit!😅

I know this is ridiculous, but just think about that! :D
