I am a very new rider. Buying my first bike next weekend, and the guy I am buying from is a solid dude. He told me I'll need to rebuild the carb. I have been doing a lot of research on this topic and came across many people pointing me to the "Brutal Customs" rebuild kit. I just went in and bought it. I watched a few videos, and I came across an 8-year-old video of the introduction of this kit. Now, in the video, the owner states that this kit will not work really well with a stock "Intake" because it will run too rich. I need to clarify which 'Intake' he means—fuel, air, or both. Any links to these intake parts or upgrades I should consider would be great.
I'll be watching this post in case anyone has an idea lol. Maybe he was talking about the stacks. That's another thing, I don't know too much, but I live in AZ, and it's dusty here. You think that mesh screen will do fine to keep the carb clean?
@Chris we have multiple kits now. We now offer a stock rebuild and performance rebuild kit. The kit from 8 years ago was only performance related.
If you are running a stock intake and exhaust then you want the stock rebuild kit. if you are running our stacks and exhaust then you want the performance kit. =)
@Chris your carbs will be fine with the stacks, they have a VERY fine stainless mesh filtration element that will keep out anything harmful.
