hello everyone.
I'm new to the shadow group and am wanting some advice. I'm wanting to build a hardtail and am just trying to find the right model for me. From my research the VLX 600 looks like a great platform to start. but im 6'3 and 200lbs. is that going to be too small? i currently have a 1975 honda CB 500T DOHC and that has been fine to ride. Will having a king and queen seat combined with the lowered stance/hardtail be a nightmare? is it worth it to go up to the 1100CC? your thoughts and advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
now this is a topic I can answer properly!
As a fellow 6'3 200 (ish) pound fella I can say that in terms of fitment in it's stock configuration it's gonna be a big fat yesn't.
The stock "cockpit" is a tad cramped as the footpegs sit a bit too far back and up causing your knees to sit above your hip level at an uncomfortable angle.
The 750 might be better, however!
I recently installed 6" forward controls and the fitment has been utterly fantastic.
The comfort went up tenfold and it's been smooth cruising for a good 600+ miles already since installing em.
Picture of me on my VLX600 with the forward controls:

With the kind and queen seat you may be sat back just far enough to make things bearable.
But as with any hardtail don't expect comfort to be it's strong point compared to a more stock/tailored setup.
@spennyjk im 6' 270 anmd i love my hardtailed VT600. its gets me around just fine. one persons nightmar eis another persons dream. hardtailing an 1100 doesnt look nearly as good and its way more difficult due to the design of the frame and you have a shaft drive on an 1100 so the hardtail has to be removeable to servive the drive and tire. depending on what fende ryou have, if your shaft drive is fixed in polace an dyou dont have a special lift or a a way to get the bike high enough, ghetting the wheel off the bike is a bitch... speaking from experience. had to pull the szeat, the sissy bar, the bags and the fender just to change a tire. so much fun!
