Aero VT750

  • Looking for some help about the speedometer on the aero. Love the bike but the tank is dented and I'm curious if I can install a cable style speedo on the bike and how. The original speedo is sun faded and melted bad.

  • @triple1ranch99 if memory serves me correctly, the speedometer is electronic and i dont think you can put a mechanincal speedometer on that bike. get rid of the speedo, you dont need it anyway!

  • Ok let me rephrase my question, the speedo is not my concern, I love the size and shape of the tank that's on the Aero VT750. It's a 2005. But the tank is dented, scratched and when I remove the speedo the brackets are out in the open.  I think my real question is there a model of shadows that has that same tank size and shape but with out the speedo mounting brackets on it?

  • @triple1ranch99 The AERO had a round single backbone which isnt super common on the hondas, they actually used the design almost identical frame construction, on the Phantoms, but they too have a bracket on the tank thats not removable.
There arent any bolt on honda tanks that fit the bill however a number of aftermarket tanks can be made to fit the round backbone. you will need ot drill and tap hole sin your backbone or weld in some threaded bungs but its not a tough install.
