recently purchased the tj brutal customs velocity stacks and carb performance kit
all back together in the bike the only thing i cant work out is where all the vacuum caps go if i need any its seems i have no ports on my carb that need capping
except the one i have capped is the black plastic pipe between both the carbs im still unsure if this is correct im just about to do the carb sync already tried once
the needles where flutttering like crazy sprayed carb cleaner around all boots bo increase in rpms but did find a small exhaust gasket leak wich is now resolved
so my question is there anything carb or otherwise that needs to be capped off for this specific model before i go chasing vacuum leaks
any help would be much appreciated
im running
velocity stacks
198 rear cylinder main jet
pilot is 45
front cylinder is a 195 main
pilot 45
1 shim on each needle
seems right due to my elevation but i could be wrong feel free to correct me if i am
and after market exhausts not sure on brand
So, help me out TJ. That black plastic piece between the carbs are an overflow vent? That hose needs to be inplace to allow gas to escape in case of a problem and flow out below the bike. That's how I saw it. Again, TJ help with this.
@ashley jefferies Not all carbs will require the vacuum plugs. your carbs may not have the nipples that need to be plugged. @Richard Thompson yes the T in between the carbs can have some hose on it pointed towards the rear of the engine. its to allow the vacuum to equalize pressure in the float bowls as the fuel fill sor gets drawn out. It is not for fuel to escape. put a foot of hose on it and run the hose towards the back of the bike, make sure not to kink or pinch it. =)
@ashley jefferies bike is all running sweet on idle and low pull . higher you go in up the gears you cant snap back and go it just bogs down tried every combo of jets and shims in the kit today so i can rule that out unless it needs to be leaner than whats in the kit (main jet that is) but if you roll on the throttle its okay just want that snap back to overtake ! Any help or advice would be great TJ cause im newrly thinking about going back to stock and i really dont want to 🤣🤣
@TJ if you see my nee comment and could give me some pointers that wiuld be awesome and greatly appreciated 😁
