Hey, you have choke knobs for the smaller engines, but if I get those and use some of my current parts, could the shorty choke knobs you sell be used on a 2000 1100 tourer?
Also, the little plastic bridge at the top of the carb connecting the two and porting, what is that?
Thanks, bro
Rick
Figured out the thing on the carb. The knob I guess I'll pass for now.
I was wrong. Fuel is being pissed out the top of the carb like a Russian race horse that just popped the seal on a case and a half of milwaukee's best. Very glad I ran that hose back under the bike, my grass not so much. So, I am pulling my carbs back off and taking a look at the vacuum slides. What did I do wrong in the carb the first time?
Ok, I think I have figgured it out. My floats were off. I don't know yet, but they were slightly, maybe 4mm under. Bent the tab down to raise the float. Anyways, I set them to just under 10mm. I will reinstall and see what I see. Thanks for listening
Also, I hate my choke cables. Knobs would be great for a 2000 shadow 1100 tourer.
Ok, so . . . the horse is off the sauce. No longer pissing fuel, but still having issues. She is running just fine at casual riding. However, when I start trading gas for horse power at a gotta go rate, it starts to spudder. One thing I have noticed is my inline filter, O'riellys special clear plastic, is not filling up. I think my gas is not flowing enough to my pump. Fine for casual . . . not so good for escaping a teenage girl on her phone.
I did pull my air box. No stacks, just an open air filter where the box was. So, I had to move my pump, but it is still sitting lower than my in line. I am going to try bleeding the air out of the filter. Could there still be an issue with the carbs?
Anyways, thanks for the bike therapy. Helps to talk about it.
Knees in the breeze.
Also, after RE-reinstalling my carbs, I noticed, it would be WAY better if I had some choke knobs. Just an observation.
@Richard Thompson The short choke knobs work on the 1100. makes life easier.
run the fuel from your gas tank to the carbs and get a NEW in line filter. might solve the issue
What?!? The ones listed for the 650? I'm on it! Thanks, bro
@Richard Thompson we dont have anything for 650's. not sure what you mean by that?
Sorry. I only saw the 600, 750 and 500 listed on the knobs. I don't know why I thought 650?! Maybe a video I was watching. Idk. Anywhoo, I didn't see the 1100 listed. My choke ends are pointy. Where the ones sold are short and stubby, Not judging. But, if you say they will work, I will be getting a couple
Still having an issue above 3/4 power on the throttle. Changed the in line annnndd FYI Edelbrock has an interchangable filter ends that has more purchase inside the tube. I was really having a hard time with the shorter connections. Picked one up at O'riellys for 20. The ends are "space age" polymer, but they are working for me so far. I will figure out the bogging at the high end of throttle sooner or later. Great chatting.
