Fuel leaking Carb

  • 2002 VT600 vlx deluxe, got the performance tuning kit upgraded the exhaust and velocity stack..  ran like a top yesterday then went to fire it up today and fuel started pouring out the carb then noticed it coming out of the forward exhaust pipe...  any ideas?  I'm a newb to most of this....  thanks in advance

  • @Joe Johnson first off, that fuel line is BARELY hanging on for dear life to the carb LOL! ... once youve remedied that, its likely your float bowl isnt fully seating or seating at all, or, one of the cylinders has weak or no spark which whill result in unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust. pull the carb, and polish the float valve and ensure the floats move freely on the pin.

  • Would the float cause the fuel in the exhaust as well?  Prior to the carb rebuild and swapping the exhaust and air intake didn't have this issue, so I'm thinking yes but wanted to get your thoughts on that...  Thanks

  • @Joe Johnson yes. the float is allowing straight fuel intot he cylinder. the spark plug aint gonna burn up raw fuel. it has to be atomized.
