Recently installed the velocity stack intake on my 06 vtx 1300. It starts right up, runs perfectly fine including sacking the throttle. But when I ride it the bike bogs at steady speeds. It comes back to idle fine, if I gas it and run through the gears it loves it but again when I'm just steady riding it runs like hell until you pull in the clutch or gas it. It does NOT stall out when it's bogging. At first I did have a problem with my knee being too close to the intake choking it out but that was a quick lesson learned. Any advice on what to do?
@Brendin Hensley you have to make sure you plugged the Pair ports, and any associated vacuum ports. You also will need to tune, we dhave not yet released the tuning kit for the VTX, but you want the main around 200-210 and the pilot at 55 with 2 clips under the needle. af mix screw out around 2-3 turns.
@TJ any status on when you'd be releasing that VTX 1300 tuning kit or more products?
@Donn Gonzalez i dont have a release date at this time.
@Brendin Hensley I am having the same issue, did you get yours sorted out
Hey bro, I'm not with TJ, but have you went through your carbs recently? The pins on the float can wear over time allowing gas to leak by when it shouldn't. So, when you open it up gas is supposed to be flowing and it allows good air to accomondate. But, when they are supposed to be closed, fuel bypass could flood the enigine causing bogging. Just a though, not sure that is what it is, but hope this helps.
Also, if you do open the float bowls, don't forget to set the floats. just under 10mm. 9.2 by spec. Good luck
