I'm not a fan of the key switch. I actually get rid of them on most of the bikes I build. It just doesn't look good in my opinion--or I'm always losing my keys.
Are you worried about hotwiring? Well if someone's gonna steal your bike, 9 times out of 10 they're not gonna hotwire it in my opinion --they're gonna throw it in the back of their big ass van and GO!
Here's what you CAN do: put a hidden toggle switch somewhere they won't expect and get rid of the key switch entirely.
