2007 VT750C2 Block off Plates

  • Just got a velocity stack for my '07 Shadow Spirit, and started ripping vacuum lines out like a madman. I got to the AIS ports on the cylinder heads with the little reed filters and whatnot, and realized I had to plug them or I'd be way too lean. Some other posts I've seen say the '07 doesn't need to be plugged or covered but there's definitely an open right into the cylinder, under the reed filter. I've got vaccum plugs on the ports at the moment and it stopped the decel pop I was experiencing when they were open to atmosphere. I'd love to grab some of cover plates off the site for a cleaner look, but  both plate options say they wont fit a 2007 VT750C2 (although a 2007 VT750C2F is OK? I think the F is just a paint/colorway code?). Could someone confirm which cover plate would fit for my peace of mind, or provide the dimensions of the plate so I can measure the ports on my bike and confirm?

  • @Nick Pull off the nupple and reed valve, if it just vents out a little weep hole in the head cover, you dont need the plates. if it goes into the engine, you need the plates. easy as pie!😎

  • Hey Nick, im in the same boat. My 07 shadow from what I can tell uses the 600 single carb and a 750 engine. When looking at the performance packs for the bikes, I was comparing the images of both block off plates. And it does seem to look like it needs the ones that are currently "out of stock" because i run into the same issue,, when I go to check compatibility, both say they dont work. I made a post about this about a month ago, and never got anywhere / got a solid answer on that, other then just needing to take everything off to find out if its sucking or blowing. Let me know what you find out.
