My post was deleted, 07 vlx600 carb issues

  • Engine Machine Titanium Automotive Fuel System Carburetor

For my first Shadow vlx600, I was doing a AFP delete, and I decided to remove the carburetor to remove the air/fuel screw and put an extended dial in place. This is when I noticed it did not have the D screw and had a barb coming out the bottom that looks like it channels to the intake side (engine) of the carb. This being my first Honda Shadow I started digging in further with diagrams, watching TJBC rebuild videos as to what the bard was and is I only for that year. It's when I came back to the manual and saw a pic of a serial # on the side of the body. Mine did not have the #s and I came across an exact pic online of the carb. I am having rich issues since I started riding. I did not open it up to see what jets are installed as I don't have a kit for seal replacement. Will the performance kit work the same with this aftermarket or will I just have to figure out my mixture to have a better running bike? Very solid low mileage bike, it's just a rich issue that needs attention. Thank you for your time and feedback in advance.

  • Not sure how my post got deleted, but I was able to add the picture for clarification on the barb which I'm talking about. Previous owner had a hose running from it to atmosphere.
