Hey guys just recently bought this Honda shadow don't really know much about bikes but very hands on I cleaned the carb from in and out assembled it back together the right way changed the fuel filter ordered a new fuel pump bike turns over but won't start unless I spray starter fluid inside it starts then dies and she sounds beautiful but she just dies after seconds anyone else know what it could be if not the fuel pump when I install it?

Hey man, did you buy the bike from a guy who let it sit for a while? Cause if so, it's a good thing that you cleaned the cab and put it back toghether correctly. My guess is on the fuel pump man. Install it and give some feedback.
If not, Check in the carb if the float needle is stuck, the main jet is obstructed or maybe the vaccum line doesn't sniff. Doesn't hurt to buy new spark plugs either.

TJ Admin Staff memberModeratorMember who has the rights to delete posts, and ban members form forum if they violate the rules.@Joel rivera alright so did you reasseemble the entire intake back on the carbs because if the bike has stock jettign and you try to get it to run without the restricxtion of the stoclk intake, they dont want to start. you cant just run them with the intake off, with stock jetting its too lean,. also, did you back out your air fuel mix screws? are you geting fuel to the carbs? is the fuel filter clogged? is the tank venting properly?
