Time to Saddle-Up Again, VT750 or VT1100?

  • Hi All,

Started watching the TJ Brutal YT videos and now I wanna get bike again. 🤘😁

Years ago I had a 2001 VT750DC Spirit, which fit me great and I loved, buuuut it was buzzy at highway speed and it just needed another gear (and a smidge more power).  So, now, after viewing the videos praising the VT1100, I'm considering that over the VT750.  I'd get either the same VT750DC or a VT1100C Spirit (dual pin crank, the "good" alloy wheels).  Can anyone provide an experienced comparison between the two?  I know the VT1100 has more power, but does it feel meaningfully bigger or heavier?  I'd prefer something a little more nimble.  Stripping parts, and the alloy wheels should get a VT1100C Spirit to about the same weight as the VT750DC, so really it's just an issue of size, or "feels like" size.  Does anyone have guidance or an opinion on this?  Usage will be mostly surface streets and short stretches of highway.  Not planning any trips of hundreds of miles.

    Thanks!

  • @ottocycle to be honest i think you may be overthinging this  LOL! they feel the same when you ride them but the 1100 has a bit more pep. if youre looking for something thats not going to be used on highway much then a 750 is what I would recommend. Get a max performance kit on it and youll wake up up a lot! the 1100 really shines on the open highway and doesnt really get to wow you on surface streets until you can open up the throttle.

  • @TJ Thanks, man.  I appreciate your insight.
