97 vt600 Fuel pump? Please help.

  I had a 2004 vt600 and It didnt have a fuel pump, Now I have a 97 and it has a fuel pump. Do I need this pump? and if so does anyone have any reccomendations on where to relocate it to? Im trying to weld in a seat that I got but the mounting hardware would sit right where the fuel pump sits now. any and all reccemandations would be fantastic. Thank you!

  @Mike Vena just run from the tank to your carb. ditch the pump.
