Fuel Question

  • I am new to bikes and recently did the Max Performance and Max Fuel kits on my 89 VT600. I have always ran premium fuel in my cars as I notice the difference. Does it hurt or make a big difference to put premium in the bike?

  • @Elijah Marley higher octane fuel is for higher compression vehicles. there is no benefit or reason to run premium fuel in any of the Honda Shadows. Higher octane fuel is used to resist engine knocking (premature detonation) in high-performance, high-compression engines, allowing for more power and efficiency by withstanding greater pressure and heat without igniting too soon.
It doesn't add more power, but its stability enables performance engine designs to extract more power and better thermodynamic efficiency, making it crucial for turbocharged or performance cars, though unnecessary (and a complete waste of money) for most standard vehicles. So from today on, unless you have a higher compression or performance engine in your vehicle,  you can start saving money at the pump. youre welcome.
