Using stock idle adjustment scews with aftermarket exhaust? 02 VT750

  • I got a exhaust performance kit for my bike, and just rejetted the carb and I accidentally overtightened the long handled scew and broke one the washers so I was just gonna give it a shot with the stock screws and was wondering how tight I should have the scews, I put the size 45 jets in and Im using the backdraft pipes

  • @badluck13 can you post some pictures of the screw youre referring to? If its the air fuel mixture screw, it doesnt "tighten" down, you want to screw in till it gently stops. No pressure on it. If you screw it too hard you will smash the rubber washer and deform the screw itself. Which means it wont work properly.

  • @TJ Hey man thanks for the response. Heres the photo of the screws..I broke the washer on one of them so I used the stock screws. I got the bike to start once and it just shut off imediately Im getting some gas and black shit coming out of the exhaust and it also looks like the carb is leaking gas out of the little nipple that drains gas when you unscrew that little flathead screw but the screw is tight. You think I need to put the smaller jets in and try again?  Scew

  • @TJ let me know if I can buy a new washer for these.

  • If possible id like to buy some more of these o rings i broke. I been trying to get this bike running for 3 months. It was running fine untill I paid a dude to clean the carb he charged me $400 and then ever since the bike hasn't ran. Dude didn't even change the intake books and now I been tying to figure this shit out as a complete beginner and I'm starting to really get upset because I just want to ride

  • @badluck13 youll need to reach out to customer service through the website, I dont handle anything shipping or orders related. =)
