Shadow Sprit VT750DCB Forks

  • I want to change out all the seals and other gibblets and fluids in my forks. Watched one of TJ's videos and saw he had a special tool for the 600's forks. Wouldn't the 750 forks need that special tool too? When I got the bike during the lockdown of 2020. the left fork was completely blown and my buddy rigged it. but I figured since they are 20 years old. its due to just get them both back up to how they were coming off the line.

  • @NumTom1 no the VT750, i recommend BEFORE You pull the fork cap and spacer and spring, you get the fork in a vise and loosen the fork piston bolt from the bottom, there is no tool or way to hold it on the 750's so this bolt at the bottom must be loosened before you pull the cap and spring and all that.

  • @TJ Thank you very much!

  • What I found out is the easiest way for me to do this if your fork piston keeps spinning is to place the spring and instead of the stock spacer, get yourself a longer pvc pipe 3/4" OD 2' long and stick it in fork tube. After you drain fluid like the manual says, turn it upside down and push down on it holding the pvc with your feet to keep it from spinning if it does and then undo the bolt. Same applies to when you built it back up.
