Left crankcase cover front connection?

   I’ve got a 99 shadow 1100. On the left side of the crank case in the front. There’s a crank case breather, do I need to run a hose going down like the one coming off the top of the rear cylinder? Or does it need to be plugged? Very clueless, just got the bike and don’t know much about
