Coolant over flow tank question

  • First, I love TJ brutal customs parts, and I know you have a coolant overflow tank, which is both very cool and easy to install.  However, I found a bottle that has "Federal law forbids the use or resale of this bottle" on the glass.  How cool would that be on a chopper??  Square and about the size of a liter, it was for prohibition era rum from Havana, Cuba.  Have you ever used glass for an over flow tank?  I was thinking rubber padding for vibrations and a metal plate to shield from road debris, but is the fluid to hot for non tempered glass?

I promise to buy TJ brutal parts in future projects.  I just want to tell the feds you ain't forbidding me from nothing.  I have to go now.  I have tags that must be torn off some mattresses.  Thanks, bro!

  • I don't think it'll be too hot for glass. Just keep it protected from rocks.

  • @James Everette Agreed, heat shouldn't be the issue here. But road debris definitely will be unless its tucked behind something or shielded somehow.

  • Thanks, guys

  • @Richard Thompson ive used several glass bottles for coolant overflow, hoever you need to make sure they arent at risk of getting hit by a rock. i made one for mike hawkins of pedro and bettys big revival on IG, and i built a few others out of jager bottles, jack daniels, sailor jerry, and an old botle that said "coon hollow bourbon" the coolant isnt too hot for glass, but it IS too hot for plastic so please dont use theose plastic honey bears for an overflow.
