title says it all. looking to buy a vl600 shadow, but wondering which series was better and why?

LOL Heres the facts, the 1st gen - 1988 - 1998 was a dual carb model, that produces more horsepower. It also had a smaller tank.
The 2nd gen: 1999 - 2000 was a single carb, made less horsepower and had a bigger tank.
The only other serious differences, were just cosmetic. i love the dual carbs because they RIP. the carbs on that bike are the same carbs used on all the dual carb VT750's so you know those carbs can move more fuel and air than the 600 can even use.
so theres no gen thats "better" than the other unless youre going by ability to produce HP.
