I recently got a 07 vt600 and I'm wondering what kind of motorcycle jack I should get I'm not seeing a good way to jack It up with an ATV/motorcycle jack I think I'm just missing something so I figured I'd ask before I mess up my bike from ignorance
@Bryce Brazee honeslty i used a reguilar car jack and the kickstand as a point of contact. wanna lift the front of the bike? put the jack underneath the forward part of the frame, kickstand down, bike in gear so it doesnt roll, jack goes up, frotn wheel comes off the ground.
wanna jack up the rear wheel? kickstand down, zip tie the brake lever so the front wheel doesnt roll or zip tie through the spokes or front wheel chok. jack up from the swingarm or just in front of it, rear wheel comes off the ground.
otherise the atv stands that are flat are just not great because the bike will just wobble up there. the frame rails are not even, and the case sticks down a lil bit in two spots.
thats just how i do it but im sure theres other options. i use a bike lift for most of my stuff now, and you canb actually get one for pretty cheap at harbor freight they have ones that have a foot pump so you dont even need compressed air to use them.
Thank you for the help I'll try that. Unfortunately I don't have the space for a lift or I'd already have one
